Stark Raving Blue
There’s a street light by my window
Sometimes at night I put on a show
Rabbit ears on my bedroom wall
Like pictures in a cave somewhere
I know there must be a story there
I’m trying to make sense of it all
My baby is one big surprise
A whirling dervish behind green eyes
You never know what she will say
Cause she spins around sometimes
Like a tornado of changing minds
I just try to stay out of the way
Chorus:
She cuts a pretty wide path
I always get caught in the aftermath
Sometimes she’s cruel, sometimes she’s kind
I don’t know what I’m gonna do
She’s driving me out of my mind
I’m going stark raving blue
One day she says fish or cut bait
Her clock is ticking and she can’t wait
She said it’s time to take a stand
So I weighed all the pros and cons
But before I could even respond
It seems she came up with a new plan
She came by to see me again
And she said she found a new boyfriend
One who laughs at all her jokes
Someone came calling in the night
Now she sees things in a whole new light
So I guess th-th-th-that’s all folks
Chorus:
She cuts a pretty wide path
I always get caught in the aftermath
Sometimes she’s cruel, sometimes she’s kind
I don’t know what I’m gonna do
She’s driving me out of my mind
I’m going stark raving blue
Bridge: There’s a pine tree in my front yard
It just bends when the wind blows hard
I wish I could be more like that
So when I got blown away
I would bounce right back
But every time I get up
She knocks me to the ground
Easy as falling in love
Easy as falling down
