Halloween
No pumpkins, no candy
Not a goblin in sight
Our house is all empty
On Halloween night
A holiday’s no time
To be out on your own
Just me and the ghosts here
Since my baby’s been gone
Chorus:
It’s not the costumes
That scare me tonight
It’s the fact that my baby
Is nowhere in sight
I don’t know no tricks
And it sure ain’t no treat
To be all by myself
On this Halloween
A princess came knocking
But it was the wrong one
There were cats and cowboys
Witches and indians
I guess this is the night
You can be something else
I’d settle for anything
Other than myself
Bridge:
The trick or treaters have gone
And the streets are all empty
But still I am haunted
By her sweet memory
No candy, no pumpkins
Not a goblin in sight
Just me and the ghosts here
On Halloween night
Chorus:
It’s not the costumes
That scare me tonight
It’s the fact that my baby
Is nowhere in sight
I don’t know no tricks
And it sure ain’t no treat
To be all by myself
On this Halloween
