King of Missions
You have seen me out in the rain
Out in the parking lot
I don’t want too much from you
Just everything you’ve got
My name means nothing to you
It’s one you can’t recall
When I come to collect my debt
I will collect it all
I have no friends to speak of
Just some people that I know
Some want to hang around
But I’d just as soon they go
I know how to work this deal
They just get in my way
One has a chance to make it
Two or more get blown away
Living is a noble cause
In this world today
We started out with aspirations
But ended up this way
You in your fancy townhouse
Me in this cardboard shack
Who is it that takes it all
And who must give it back
So when you lie down to sleep
Lock your doors and windows tight
Try not to listen to my voice
That calls to you late at night
I am the King of Missions
I am the ruler of all I can see
I don’t know who’s in charge here
But I know it ain’t you or me
So when you see me again
Don’t you dare shake your head
Cause but for the grace of something
It could be you here instead
I am the King of Missions
My kingdom is my life
I have ruled with napalm
M-16s and surgical strikes
You have seen me on the news
Out on the front lines
I don’t want too much from you
I just want what is mine
