I guess fishing is a metaphor for just about everything. But is everything also a metaphor for fishing? Perhaps.
The first time I ever saw her
She looked so mean
Sitting in the front of a bass boat
And staring straight at me
I asked her if she liked to fish
She said “come here”
“I just caught myself a big one,
Now go fetch me a beer”
Chorus:
I would have turned around
And hauled ass out of there
Except for those blue eyes
Long legs and jet black hair
Her bait worked great
Now I’m hooked
I haven’t been fishing in years
I sold my boat
Every time I wake up with her
There’s a hook in my throat
Sometimes I miss being out there
Casting my line
Then she comes strutting through the door
And all that slips my mind
Chorus:
I would have turned around
And hauled ass out of there
Except for those blue eyes
Long legs and jet black hair
Her bait worked great
Now I’m hooked
Bridge:
I have been a fisherman
And I have been a fish
It feels fine being on this line
With such a tasty dish
Chorus:
I would have turned around
And hauled ass out of there
Except for those blue eyes
Long legs and jet black hair
Her bait worked great
Now I’m hooked
