My ex-wife had a friend named Donna, who I always referred to as “Missus.” This was before cellphones, so the house phone (remember when those were a thing) would ring constantly. Somehow this song resulted.

I tried to call Donna last night
There was no answer
I wonder what that means
Maybe she was out of town
Or maybe she was in the tub
Maybe she has Caller ID
